In April 2023, the Port of Seattle's Service Agreements (SA) embarked on a strategic lean improvement journey to better serve our internal and external clients. As part of the strategic lean plan, 17 lean improvements were identified after conducting stakeholder engagement meetings-- some of which impacted the Port's capital delivery program. Sound Transit is happy to report the team completed designing/launching 5 lean improvements with the support of many colleagues. This included 3 major improvement areas:
Establishing Port Compensation Values for Consulting Services
Improving Contract Delivery Time for Professional Services (valued $200k or more, Category 3)
Improving our negotiation process prior to contract execution and adding to existing job categories.
